Have you ever asked yourself this question? Who am I? And what does it matter? It matters because God made me just the way I am for a reason. For so long I toiled as I sought purpose in life. What's this life for anyway? I so related to the words in the Creed song of a similar name, What's This Life For:
Remember, the Lord of all the earth knows your name and knit you in the womb of your mother...
Hurray for a childMy unique experiences and gift were made with purpose in mind; His purpose. Today I was reading Becoming the Real Me by Renee Swopes from Proverbs 31 Ministries website. Renee offers this prayer at the end and I prayed it in hopes that I can finally live His purpose in this life I have been blessed with.
That makes it through
If there's any way
Because the answer lies in you
They're laid to rest
Before they know just what to do
Their souls are lost
Because they
could never find
What's this life for...
Lord, I want to know the woman You had in mind when You created me. I don’t want to grow old and never know Your purpose for my life. Show me Your dreams for me so I can offer what You want to give to those around me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.I have always believed that the trials I've had in this life were for a greater purpose, but I have yet to understand what that is. Truth is, I may never fully know that answer in this life. It could be that even in this moment I have been already living that purpose in my everyday encounters. I've never really looked at my "gifts" per se, but I hope that my openness to discuss even the hurt and pain of my experiences and how I was able to overcome or reconcile myself with these growth opportunities has helped others. In the end, I hope that I have been a blessing in the lives of some of those with whom I have crossed paths just as I know so many who have come into my life have touched me and grown me through those seasons with them.
Remember, the Lord of all the earth knows your name and knit you in the womb of your mother...
